How to add a flag counter to Shopify

Show where your shoppers come from: add a free flag counter to your Shopify theme with a Custom Liquid block, or to any page with the HTML editor.

Shopify themes built on Online Store 2.0, such as Dawn, let you paste HTML into a Custom Liquid section or block — the simplest way to add Live Flag Counter to your footer. On other themes you can add it to a page instead.

Step by step

  1. Create your counter

    Design it on our homepage, click Create my counter and copy the HTML code.

  2. Open the theme editor

    In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.

  3. Add Custom Liquid

    In the footer (or any other section), click Add block or Add section, choose Custom Liquid and paste the HTML into its field.

  4. Save

    Click Save and preview your store.

What the code looks like

This is the HTML code. Yours contains your own counter ID instead of YOUR-ID, so always copy it from your counter's page.

Tips for Shopify

  • Only want it on one page? Go to Online Store → Pages, open the page, click the Show HTML button (<>) in the editor toolbar, paste the code and save.
  • Not every theme offers Custom Liquid. If you can't find it, use the page method or ask your theme's support where custom HTML belongs.
  • The counter loads from our server, so it never slows down checkout.

Questions

Do I need a Shopify app for a flag counter?

No. It is a single image with a link, added straight to your theme — no app and no monthly fee.

Can customers see my statistics?

Clicking the counter opens its statistics page. Make the statistics private in the counter's settings if you prefer.
